Why Would I want to Jailbreak my iPhone?
The main reason people choose to Jailbreak one of their Apple devices would be to gain access to apps that are not “Approved” by Apple. After you Jailbreak your Apple device you will gain access to Cydia, which is like the App Store but with significantly more apps. Some of the popular app available once you have Jailbroke your device include, MyWi, Winterboard, and Speed Intensifier but his is just the beginning. After you Jailbreak your device there are over a million apps and tweaks you can choose from. Some are paid and others are free. You can also add additional sources for Cydia to search. Just be careful that the app you download is supported by your iOS.

Before I get into how to actually Jailbreak your Apple device I wanted to make a brief statement about the legality of doing this. Since the release of the iPhone Apple has been saying that it is not legal to jailbreak your iPhone or iPad but in July 2010, congress made a ruling making it officially legal. Now Let’s Get Started
The first thing we need to do is identify what iOS you are running. To do this go to Settings -> General -> About and look to see what version you are running.
Now Click Here to check to see what iOS versions are currently being supported by JailbreakMe. If your iOS version is listed you can continue on, if not there are other options but they are more difficult and will not be covered in this tutorial.
Now that we have verified that your device is supported by JailbreakMe go to jailbreakme.com from your mobile device.
If you get the image below your device is not supported.
If you did not get the image shown above you are odd to go. From here click on Free then Install to install Cydia and Jailbreak your device.
Your device has now been Jailbroken and you are ready to start using Cydia in all its glory. There are other methods to Jailbreak your device that provide you more options but they also require more work. These methods include using software like Redsn0w, Sn0wbreeze, Greenpois0, and P0wnage.
